2018 - Hello Mark

In fall 2018 I received a Facebook friend request from a Pastor in Uganda. My immediate reaction was this was really unusual. But something kept me from just deleting it and moving on immediately. I have always prayed for God to use me and so in the back of my mind I felt like maybe this could be God's direction. So after a few conversations back and forth on Facebook I asked Pastor to do one last thing to assure me he was who he said he was- a Pastor of Family Voice Church and not a scammer. I asked him to hold up a sign in front of his church building that said HELLO MARK!.

He did so and we believed in him and his heart and vison. Having never supported a church on our own before, we decided how best we could quickly make a change for Pastor Musa. It was decided to purchase him a projector so he could show movies and display lyrics during worship on Sundays. Little did we know that projector would lead a hundred or more people to Christ as Pastor Musa would hold outdoor movie festivals and show the Jesus Film followed by an altar call. 

We then began to split our tithe between our church in Texas and the Family Voice church in Lira, Uganda. This tithe alone was enough to pay the rent and expenses on the church building every month. What we soon found out is that Pastor was questioning his coming to Lira from a good job in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, to start this church. Questioning because he was almost at the end of his personal savings he was using to pay the rent. Lira is poor and the local tithing was not even coming close to supporting the church. It was clearly God's calling and direction to put Pastor Musa in our lives at this trying time.
